Ski on the snowy Hermon Mountain in Israel and enjoy breathtaking view and perfect slopes. At VisitIsrael.com you can find all the information you need to book your ski vacation in Israel and can make all your travelling arrangements with ease and online.
Though snow sports are not the first thing that comes to your mind when you imagine your Israel dream-holiday; at the very northern tip of the Mediterranean, desert and sub-tropical country there is Mount Hermon. The snow coverage, accompanied by the dry and cold conditions makes it an ideal ski resort.
Mt. Hermon is about 6,000 feet high and has nearly 28 miles of ski runs. From beginners to advanced skiers, there is something for everyone, including two runs that have been approved by the International Ski Federation as Olympic-standard. It has four chairlifts and five T-bars to ferry skiers and sightseers up the mountain. In addition there is a ski school, and a well equipped shop.
There's fun for non-skiers as well: Toboggan-riding for children, and an exciting track-sled down a 950-yard route. To take it easy between runs, or just to take in the view of the slopes and stunning surroundings, guests can enjoy a bite to eat, a cup of cocoa or a bowl of hot soup in the glass-enclosed restaurant at the upper station.
Ski passes for two, three and four days are available, as well as with package deals that include lodging at nearby bed-and-breakfast accommodations, entrance fees and equipment rental.
And after the snow melts in the spring, the heights of Hermon become a breathtaking Alpine, summer meadows - kind of landscape. Then you discover Hermon's summer treasures: blooming wildflowers, gliding raptors and gorgeous views.
